PLANO BALLOON FESTIVAL - SEPT 19 to 21st
What's not to love about September, it signals the beginning of fall and all that comes with it. As an almost lifelong resident of Plano, I wanted to share a really cool event with you.
The Plano Balloon Festival is taking place September 19th - 21st @ Oak Point Park in Plano. Kids can see hot air balloons up close, watch them lift off and watch a balloon glow in the evenings. In the evenings they also have family friendly live music followed by a fireworks show. For more information, check out their website.
STATE FAIR OF TEXAS - Sept 26 to oct 19
There is something magical about the State Fair of Texas, the activities are one of a kind and endless. Pig Races? BMX Stunt Bike Shows? Funnel Cake flavored beer? Live music? An epic football rivalry (BOOMER SOONER!)? A 212 foot ferris wheel? A 55 foot tall cowboy? Anything you can possibly fry and put on a stick? The State Fair of Texas has them. The school may get tickets from the fair this year to distribute to each student for a free admission, if it happens they'll be in the Friday folders!
FUN FAIR FACT: The corn dog was first seen at the state fair in 1942, Fletcher's corndogs are claimed to have invented the iconic fair food.
